more details for candidatesElections:The ISA Committee is elected by its members annually during the autumn term.
The ISA Constitution states that Candidates need to be members of the ISA for at least a month. As by registering new members we do agree that we will provide all the events stated in our Calendar. Therefore, the individuals who state their interest in being a part of the ISA committee are aware of the targets set by the ISA.
Due to the fact that bulk of the ISA members leave by the end of the academic year and that would be unfair for the following years members not to have any choice on their representing ISA committee.
Due to the fact that a fully working and experienced committee can prepare for the following year as the calendar of the events needs to be done and the events/trips need to be organised in advance.
To allow fair elections for all the candidates, membership will not be issued one week prior to the elections dates to guarantee that voters are participating ISA members.
Besides all the services that we provide we try to make our members stay at Leicester University and the UK a memorable one by organising trips all around the UK and some European cities, by providing them with the opportunity to meet with their fellow students with our socials, parties and sport events; and last but not least by showing international movies in our weekly film nights.
The ISA has been providing these services and entertainment for years to the international students and we can pride ourselves by being one of the biggest and the most active International Students Association in the country.
