You association is run by students for students on a voluntary basis only.
Activities and support available:We provide support to the new arrivals to ease the difficulties that may crop up on their arrival and during their stay in Leicester.

Our support involves:. Helping them regarding information:

-  In finding Private accommodation.
. Banking in the UK: opening a bank account etc...
. Second hand essentials to the new arrivals from our previous members.
. Referring the international students to the help available to them regarding their academic problems.
. Advertising the language courses and proof reading services available to them provided by the Language Unit.
. Advise and help them on a number of issues, such as insurance, safe transportation from and back to their accommodation, mobile phone contract etc…
. We advertise available language jobs from our local community colleges to our members.
. As the ISA committee we try to represent the international students and be their emergency contact in Leicester whenever they need our assistance.
. Depending on their personal interests, we also advertise different associations, societies and clubs available in our Union to our members.

ISA Partners/Finances:While organising the trips ISA only works with Ausden Clark for Coaches, with the Union for minibuses, insurance and drivers and the YHA.
For our other events only few of them do take place outside the Union and the University, such as international food nights like Indian, Chinese restaurants, Diwali celebrations and Xmas dinners for those who remain in Leicester during the holiday period etc.. ISA submits term reports to the relevant sabbatical Officer and applies for grants annually.
*As ISA is a non religious, non political and non profitable association we always aim at breaking even. This induces that unforeseen losses are inevitable as we can not predict how many trip participants would take part. Although all the measures are taken into consideration to avoid such occurrences we have to make the travel arrangement way in advance to secure accommodation, flight or transportation which are often non refundable.
As well as making the Students Union a prime venue for support and activities we endeavour to make the University of Leicester a top destination for international students.
